Cheerios!!!!

すごく嬉しいことがあったので自慢します
Last week, something REALLY exciting happened

NY在住のミュージシャンお友達、シルベスター・ドラゴン・ジュニアくんから
甘くて懐かしい大きな大きなプレゼントが届きました！
A humongous box arrived from NY. 
Sender? My friend, Sylvester Draggon Jr.

話すと長くなるんですが、簡単にまとめると、
お互い日本とアメリカでそれぞれ欲しいものを送り合おう！という話になり
To make long story short, both of us have decided to send each other
something we love and miss from our second homes,
Japan for him, and from the States for me.

彼は、無印良品のスパークリングサイダーが欲しい、
そして私はHoney-Nut Cheeriosというシリアルが欲しい、
(Somehow) Sylv requested bottled sparkling sodas from MUJI
and I, ofcourse, requested my favorite cereal, Honey-Nut Cheerios.

というなんとも食いしん坊なリクエストをお互い出しまして
Yes, we're given to Gluttony...

少し前に、彼から、箱が届いたよと大喜びの知らせがあったとともに
僕も送った！という嬉しい連絡をもらっていたので
私もいつ届くかなーとうきうきしながら待っていました
A bit futher back in time, he had told me (w/ glee!)
that my package had safely arrived at his home
and that he, too, had already sent my Cheerios to Japan.

そして先週！ついにその箱が届いたのです
And just last week, the treasure box arrived!
Oh how antsy I was!

早く空けたい気持ちでいっぱいだったけど、箱がかわいくておもわず写メ
I wanted to rip it right open,
but the box was just too cute I had to take several pictures

シルベスター。彼、日本語も書けちゃうんです

ひとしきり箱をにやにや眺めたところで、オープン
OK, now I'm ready to open it!

・・・・・・ぁあああ！
I think I see something!!!



そして全貌明らかに！
キャー！私がいつも食べてたなつかしのシリアル、HONEY NUT CHEERIOS!!
Yes!!! they're  my FAVORITE cereal in the whole wide world! Cheeeeeeerios!!!

そしてもうひとつ、大好きなシナモンガム、Big Red!!
And my favorite gum, sweet and spicy Big Reds! (2 packs!!! woohoo



もーーー嬉しくて、嬉しくて、シリアルボックスの後ろにあるゲームやったり
ガムをさっそく開けて、むしゃむしゃかんでみたり
I was so so happy I started solving puzzles on the back side of the cereal box,
savoring the cinnamon spice of the King of the Gums...

なんだかもーうれしくて箱に入ってみたり
Jumping into the box full of styrofoam bits...


（んー、猫だったら楽しかったかも
(Hmm only if I were a kitty...


この日は、Cheeriosは我慢して、次の日の朝食にしようと思って
箱を大事に抱えながら寝ました（うそ
Holding back the urge to have a Cheerio party at 11 at night,
I calmly snuck into my bed,
dreaming about the breakfast I'm going to enjoy the next day.

次の日に食べたCheeriosの美味しさといったら！
昔Cheeriosをよく食べてたソファを思い出しました
And oh, how heavenly the Cheerios were to my tongues the next morning!
The couch I used to sit down on while munching on the cereal
flashed back in my mind. I wasn't a potato, but a Couch Cereal.

それから、今日にいたるまで朝はずっとCheerios
さすがに、この調子で1箱はすぐ終わってしまいまして
あともう1箱はちびちびつまんで食べてます
From then on, my breakfast continued to be Cheerios
and as to be expected, the first box finished quite fast.
I've got only one left, so now I'm nibbling on each ring like a squirrel.

ちなみに、Cheeriosとはわたしがアメリカにいた時のあだ名でもあります
"Chihiro"って発音しにくいようで、発音が似ているシリアル名で呼ばれてました
On a side note, "Cheerio" was actually my nickname during my highschool years.
I guess "Chihiro" was hard to pronounce, they decided to call me a cereal brand.

ちなみにちなみに、Honey-nutのほかにもこんなにたくさんCheeriosあります
By the way, they've got so many kinds of Cheerios, not just Honey-Nut.



半分くらいまだ食べたことないので、食べてみたいなぁ
I didn't know they had this many Cheerios...want to try them all...

オーツ・クラスター絶対おいしいだろうなぁ

Anyhoo, I was so excited I just wanted to brag about it
